See Who's Writing the Same Topics You Are

With all this talk of changing the topics viewing to the Reader, I just now remembered how I used to view the tags when I first started blogging here. Early on I rarely visited the tags from WordPress's homepage.

It has been several months, but I now can pinpoint exactly how it was I originally went to the Tags. I am not sure I can remember all the exact wording. I have the Fun mode turned on and after publishing a post, a page would come up. Instead of suggesting tags for your blog entry, it would have links to the tags of others who blogged about the same topics as you. That was how I found blogs of interest and began following some that way.

Because I didn't like the new sidebar thing, I turned it off. I didn't need to see tag suggestions, nor the other stuff, but I would be interested in seeing that others are possibly blogging about the same content as I. Is there any way to bring that concept back? Would there be a way to find out if many others had used it when it was available? Maybe few did and so they got rid of it. ??

The blog I need help with is thebirdingbunch.com.

  2. Re: fun mode
If you enable it, you will see a checkbox that says "This post is super awesome" whenever you create or edit a post. http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2010/04/17/surprise-me/

  3. One can use Google search. Replace "keyword" with any keyword or phrase (insert dash between words when there are 2 or more words in a phrase).
    keyword site:wordpress.com
    example 1 search string
    Christian site:wordpress.com
    example 1 search results > http://tinyurl.com/7l2vlx4

One can use Bing. Replace "keyword" with any keyword or phrase (insert dash between words when there are 2 or more words in a phrase).
    keyword site:wordpress.com
    example 1 search string
    Christian site:wordpress.com
    example 1 search results > http://tinyurl.com/7nzhalm

  4. Oops! Google Related only works if you have set Toolbar’s search site to be Google.com. See here > http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/04/spring-cleaning-in-spring.

  5. We can log-out of WordPress.com and still access the topics pages.
    Example: http://wordpress.com/tag/Christian

  6. @timethief Thanks for the tip on narrowing search results. Super useful!
