   Hi,

   My Dad is painting and making great sculptures, but he has never agreed to do any exhibitions or try to sell it. We (his sons) think he should, because it is so good (and he could also use the money). Now it seems he finally might let us help him to show it, and maybe sell some, online. I would like to help him set up a wp blog, but I wonder: what is allowed, and not? Would he be allowed to show his art on the blog with prices attached, thereby selling it through the blog? And what about PayPal? Or is there an other way you can recommend?

   I'm afraid e-commerce isn't possible here at WordPress.com.

   If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

   Here is an artist who started out selling her stuff via WP.com and then moved to an independently hosted blog with full ecommerce capabilities. She might be able to give you some guidance:

   You can also use etsy to show and sell his work online - I think there are some other sites that are also easy to use - do check them carefully not all are created honest.

   What about having affiliates on a WP.com blog. Is that allowed? Is it doable without plugins?
