Selling items directly on my blog?

  1. Is it possible for me to sell items directly on my blog? I currently have two small Etsy shops where I sell handmade items, but they are not getting enough attention, so I'm trying to find any way that I can to increase sales. If it is possible to sell directly on my blog, do you have a how-to guide, or should I just ask questions when I need to? And, last but not least, do I need to upgrade to Pro in order to do this? Thank you so much for your time and I can't wait to hear from you!

  2. While you can sell your work on your blog, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing, or reselling of work created or services provided by other people is allowed on WordPress.com.

This link will give you instructions for using a Paypal button on your blog:

If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality beyond this, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

Please see this link to learn about the differences:

  3. Wow! Thank you very much for your quick and detailed response. I will definitely be looking into all of these to see what I can handle and what will work for me. And as for what I would be selling, they are 100% handmade items by me. I take pride in making my own products. I appreciate you covering that, too. It's nice when people answer questions even before they're asked, instead of having to ask so many questions just to get one answer :)

  4. You're welcome!
