Can't get the "Send to Editor" button to work with any of my images... Using an iBook G4 and OSX 10.3.9. I've tried all the tricks on the FAQ and blog (clearing cache, etc.) as well as every browser available for the Mac (Firefox, Safari, etc.)
Text editing is fine; I can even drag the image to the Editor and have the URL show up (which doesn't help). But the "Send to Editor" button just sits there when I click it.
Thoughts?
what browser are you using? sometimes it's a little bug that goes away the next time you try it. otherwise, you can try using different browsers. if that still doesn't work, you might want to report to feedback. note that it closes on weekend. =)
I admit I just grab the URL and then use the Visual editor, pasting that URL in the popup when I hit the Image icon. You don't need to do your tweaking with the Upload box, you can just use the URL and then treat it like any other image on your blog, with alignment, sizing, etc.
I have the same problem, though at times the button works. It worked yesterday, for instance, but not today or the day before yesterday. I am using the latest version of FF on a Sony VGN T150 laptop. I have also dumped the cache, rebooted, and everything else I can think of.
have you tried using different browsers and see if it works?
Did anyone ever find a solution to this? Multiple PCs and MACs of mine exhibit the same problem. I cant Send to Editor, but I can drag images in. What gives?
I would report it to Staff. They need to know the details, especially browser version and virus protection.
I posted an additional reply on "images not uploading" topic as well, but there is some quirky reason that I'm having the same issues with the "send to editor" button-not-working as well. When I upload image, fine, but when clicking the "send to editor" tab it doesn't do anything, and the image does not post to entry. I'm also having this issue with getting the links posted properly and it looks really messy. *sigh*

timethief- looks as though the issue has been resolved; I've been clearing my cache prior to posting- rather annoying to have to do this everytime for Windows, but that seems to do it. Otherwise I do not get the proper "page" to post that allows the images, which is odd. The address is http://tsaari.wordpress.com, email is available on the blog, etc. And the "support" has not been available during the time this occured so I just left a post here...

For what it's worth, I've had problems "sending to editor" in the past with FF on the mac, and I even tried FF on Winduhs as well. My work around was to save the post and then go back to "manage" and then click the edit link on the post and bring it up again (a pain, but it worked). I would then browse to the image, click on it, then on "send to editor" and it would go. I've also noticed that after "sending" an image to my post, that I lose the cursor until I do a save and continue editing. I never pursued these problems since I changed to an off-line editor.

Off-line blog editors are a boon to us bloggers. Why struggle with all that frustration when they are free, intuitive and work so well? I'm pretty sure that if you try one you will want to use it all the time.

i just upload them on imageshack.us and use the hotlink for websites

some pictures worked for me , some didnt.
i think the size was too big.
i cant tell it doesnt work for me tho since some did.
but i prefer to keep using imageshack.

Before you upload your images you should optimize and pres-size them. The maximum sizes in each theme's blogging space is found here http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/

As your username is not linked to your blog I cannot see it and give you any specific help. To link your wordpress.com username to your blog here in the forum go up to the top right hand corner. Look for Welcome, fanocp! "view your profile" and click "View your profile". Next click "edit this information" scroll down to website and insert the url for your wordpress.com blog (http://yourblogname.wordpress.com). No click "Update Profile" to save.

how come when i tried to upload an image today, i only get the thumbnail size? i can't see the "send to editor" button and there's no more choice if i want the original size to be posted in the blog. what happened?
can you give us a link to the image? You should be able to find the URL by going to Dashboard->Manage->Uploads then clicking on the image.
If we can see it, we might be able to tell you the problem.
Also, what browser, browser version, and OS are you using?

hi again judyb12! i've tried using IE, and successfully uploaded the original size picture in my post. It seems that the mozilla browser has problems. What should i do? I actually prefer mozilla but if the problem continues, i have no choice but to use IE for wordpress.
I've noticed that the send to editor function is a little funky sometimes in Firefox. I've found that if I upload the pic and then NOT insert it at that moment, but click on the browse all button, locate the image and click on it that all the options are there. I can then click on the send to editor button and insert it.
Hmmm, some other folks have been reporting dodgy happenings with the most recent update to Firefox for Windows. I haven't had any problems with the Mac version.
Try thesacredpath's work around if it happens again :-)
Yeah, I don't know about Window either for sure. I have two PC laptops for my test equipment and consulting stuff, but never use them for blogging.
I Installed lastest wp today.
and had same problem with IE6(Win XP).
upload image fine. 'Send to Editor' not working.

* open 'wp-admin/js/upload.js'
* find 'win = top;' and replace it with 'win = parent;'
now it work's fine. :)
ff4500 - you have a self-hosted blog. We are using a different platform here so what you suggest would not work.
FYI, ff4500's post worked for me. I was having the exact same issue of the "Send to Editor" button not doing anything when clicking on it.
be sure to clear your cache!
