Sending truncated versions of posts to followers via email

When I publish a new post, my followers get an email with the entire post. I would prefer they get the first paragraph and then click on a link to "continue reading." This way my blog might get more traffic. Is this doable?

I already know how to insert the "continue reading" function--I just am not sure what followers will see in the email message if I truncate the post this way.

The blog I need help with is politicdiscourse.com.

  2. The more tag we insert into posts only affects posts on the front page of the blog. It does not change the RSS Feed setting. Go here > Settings > Reading and change the RSS Feed from "full text" to "summary" and then click "save changes".

So the email followers receive when I create a new post are considered a RSS Feed?

    Thanks for your help.

  4. Yes the email contents are derived from the RSS Feed for posts.
