Serious help needed like now

  • Grrg. I moved my site http://forgetthetalkies.com here and Im not liking it. In addition to the adsense thing my links are all wonky (wordpress wants the full date in the links; blogger only did month and year). I paid to have my domain moved here, but now I want to move back I cant delete it and this is driving me mad as its causing many problems for my site.

    I have tried to delete my blog 3 times, and tried to contact support 3 times in the past 2 days. I have not heard back nor recieved a deletion link. Can someone help? Thanks!

  • Make sure and check your email spam filter to make sure that the email confirmations have not gotten caught in your email spam filter.

    Other than that, all I can suggest is to be patient and if staff doesn’t respond, contact them again.

  • I have, trust me! No emails have been sent at all and its driving me mad!

  • thank you so much! I’m very desperate as a big event is supposed to be posted on the 20th…and with my links all wonked and my google hits wonked as well its just…very hair tearing out. I hope they fix it soon, I just sent my 4th email :(!

  • Support staff replied to your ticket and you didn’t respond. Please check your email spam filter settings – they can’t help if they have no way to reach you.

  • I have checked my spam filter, I have not recieved any emails at all. I even tried changing my email to another one to guarentee I havent recieved it. Can they resend it?

  • I am becoming extremely frustrated over wordpresses inability to email me. I have never recieved any of the deletion links, and I have recieved no emails from support. My email is (email visible only to moderators and staff) and I checked it (and even tested it from another email address) and there is nothing anywhere…and yes I have checked my spam every time as well. I added another email to the account wondering if this was the problem and I recieved the change email letter, and then when I tried the deletion again I got nothing, and I have recieved no support emails at that address either (and again yes spam folder). Please help…this needs to be fixed now!

  • Make sure that you are checking the email address that is listed under users > your profile in the dashboard of your account.

  • Yup that one was listed, and then since nothing was happening and I became paranoid I changed it to another private email I dont wish to list here. But both emails are working (and yes spam has been checked and other letters recieved).

  • OK, all I can suggest is to contact them again and tell them you did not receive the email.

    Also one word of caution, never put your email address in a comment, or in an open forum such as this. Spammers scan forums and such for email addresses all the time and your inbox could end up stuffed full of emails for pharmaceuticals and such.

  • Well that is a public email (used on my blog) so I know the risk. I did email them again, and pleaded my case again. I hope this is settled soon :(. Thanks!

  • I finally recieved ONE blog deletion link…to the email above (which would now be my old email, I listed a new one on the account like I said). All well and good but I still have not recieved an email from support and I sent something like 4 deletion link emails and 5 support ones.

  • You should be able to delete your blog contents from your dashboard. Check settings, delete blog. However WordPress accounts apparently cannot be deleted. They are forever.

  • @forgetthetalkies, I replied to all of your messages in support. I think the trouble was that your email was not working. In cases like this where you do not receive any replies at all, you should try to contact us at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ using an alternate email address. I see that you did that, and I made sure to reply to your hotmail account yesterday, so you should have received those messages.

    Also, note that if your domain was originally purchased through another company, you can change the domain name server settings at any time and we can’t control those settings from our end. The name servers control where traffic is sent. In your case, you just needed to update your name servers.
