Setting header colours

  1. Hi All..

    hoping someone can help me with this.. i have set up our customised blog based on a theme..i have changed all colours, even started using the excellent typekit.. but when i add new widgets to the blog on the right it is showing these headers in the original green colour not the red the rest show as..

    any ideas? help appreicated!

    many thanks!

    The blog I need help with is smartideasblog.wordpress.com.

  2. http://smartideasblog.wordpress.com/ is the address - apologies.

  3. This should do it for you.

    li.sidebox h2 {
        color: #CC0033;
    }

    Also, I would also suggest since you are using a huge amount of images per post in some cases that you set you site to show a maximum of 1 or 2 posts per page at settings > reading. Your site takes forever to load and that can discourage visitors and also lower your search engine ranking since they take that into account when calculating page rank now.

  4. Many thanks! worked a treat and we have also changed it to now show 2 posts on the front page!

    Last little niggle and spec of green we have is on our twitter widget where it says follow me at the bottom..would you know how to turn to red? i'll be well and truly happy then!

  5. That is a toughie. The color for that is actually set in the PHP script files which means it is virtually impossible to override. Styling directly in the markup basically overrides all CSS.
