Shareaholic Problem with Twitter & Jetpack

  1. When Jetpack is enabled, and I try to tweet a post from Shareaholic, the post automatically adds my site title to the tweet. This doesn't happen to me when JetPack is disabled. Both Shareaholic and my theme developer say the problem is not with them. Any thoughts?

The blog I need help with is orlandowaterhole.com.

  2. Hi there,

Can you confirm which plugin it is that you are using? Is it:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/shareaholic/

    or

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sexybookmarks/ ?

I ask because both look exceedingly similar, yet the 2nd one has many many more downloads than the first.

Also, I was unable to reproduce the problem when I tested it on your site right now; is Jetpack deactivated? Could you please take a screenshot of what it looks like to you when it's activated, and post it here:

    http://snag.gy/

Once you've posted it, please give me the link to your screenshot.

You can learn how to take a screenshot here:

  3. Here's the screenshot from this evening. Snaggy wasn't working.

And here is my plugin. I couldn't tell which version I have, as I'm using Shareaholic, but Sexy Bookmarks is activated in settings.

  4. You currently have Jetpack activated, correct? I was able to reproduce on your site as well.

Out of curiosity, can you give me a screenshot of what your settings are for sexybookmarks? You should be able to find them here:

    http://orlandowaterhole.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=shareaholic_sexybookmarks.php#functionality

I tried to reproduce this on a test blog, but I wasn't able to. I'm hoping that we'll find the culprit in your settings, maybe. Thanks!

  5. Ok, thanks for those screenshots. Could you please try something for me? Can you go into the Jetpack page, deactivate all of the modules that you have activated, the reactivate them one by one until you find the one that causes the site title to appear. To deactivate a module, click on the "Learn More" button for each module, then "Deactivate". Also, it'd be helpful to have a list of all the active plugins on your site.

With that information, I'll be able to file the bug report. I'm sorry to ask you to do this, but I wasn't able to reproduce this result on my test site. Thanks!

  6. Extra Sidebar Widgets was the problem.
