How do I use a shortcode?

  1. Have repeatedly attempted to embed a vimeo file using shortcode to adjust the size. At the default size it works wonderfully, thank you. All attempts at changing size fail and result in a line of text appearing in the updated blog entry.

Have tried with and without the brackets shown in your example. With the w=500&h=400 in your example as well as the w=640&h=390 I would prefer.

Have tried it while video is playing in vimeo and when it is not.

Clearly I am doing something wrong. Please let me know what to try next. The SlowTV blog will go with the smaller size until I can figure out sizing in the cantbedone test blog.

Not so bad this week but there is a beautiful escape to reality video being edited for next week and I would really like it to display it in a larger size.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. Make sure that when you enter in the vimeo shortcode, it isn't bold or doesn't have any highlighting on it.

I removed the bold tags on your post: http://cantbedone.wordpress.com/2011/05/18/size-matters/ and the videos now work.

For future reference the, shortcode should look like this:
    [vimeo http://www.vimeo.com/23868998 w=640&h=390]

If you have trouble with the video displaying correctly, you can switch to the HTML editor to make sure that the shortcode looks correct. (That's how I found the problem with your post.)
