show full post on front page

  1. I want to my posts to show in full on the front page of my blog, but they are only showing excerpts. How do I change this? I'm using the Origin Theme.

Second question, I want to hide the author name or at least change the location of the author and category to below the post. How do I accomplish this?

The blog I need help with is thinkdolove.com.

  2. 1. Switch themes
    2. Keep the theme and use a workaround.
Not all blog themes are designed to display full posts on the front page of the blog. Please read the theme description here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/origin/

The Origin theme is behaving exactly the way it is designed to behave, which is excerpts only on the front page of the blog but Origin does have an active excerpt box below the post editor, so you can control the length of the excerpt displayed. This is the workaround you can use to override excerpt display on the front page.

You compose your whole post first and before you publish it you switch to the HTML (Text) editor, copy the code, paste it into the Excerpt box, and publish the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/#creating-excerpts
This will have to be done on every post.

  3. I want to hide the author name or at least change the location of the author and category to below the post.

That can't be done without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing.

Important note: CSS editing is theme dependent. In some themes, individual elements like categories and/or tags cannot be hidden independently, as they are in the same selector as the other meta data elements such as author, date, and perhaps even the “leave a comment” link, which means if you hide one, then you hide them all.

  4. Thank you. This is exactly what I needed.

  5. You're welcome.
