Showing all of my archived blog-images?

  1. Hi Experts!
I'd like to know if I can make all of my image-blogs appear in my archives. Those from last year one can only ask to find, but I would like them all to show on my Archive page. Anyway to do that? THANKS in advance!

The blog I need help with is oceanphile.wordpress.com.

  2. Hello there,
We cannot edit templates or theme. In the majority of themes, posts on category or other archive pages show up just as they do on the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/

  3. Well, this doesn't help because your answer doesn't address my question, which may be poorly worded. As I said, I have a mainly image-heavy blog, just an image with a few paragraphs. If you look at my Archive, you see the image-thumbnails, but just from this year, 2012. I would like to have all of my thumbnails show, or at least be able to set the range or something. It may help to take a look at what I'm talking about specifically.

I thank you very much for the effort, but I did search for answers before asking, and I saw this same reply to someone else, but they weren't asking what I am. This is not the answer to my specific question. Thanks tho! I do appreciate the attempt!

  4. If you look at my Archive, you see the image-thumbnails, but just from this year, 2012. I would like to have all of my thumbnails show, or at least be able to set the range or something. It may help to take a look at what I'm talking about specifically.

I did examine you blog. When I click into your Archives I find a select month dropdown and when I click the oldest date I see this > http://oceanphile.wordpress.com/2011/02/
What I do know is that we cannot edit templates and themes and change how any theme functions. Therefore I don't know of any way to do what you want to do.

  5. Well, that's annoying. Thank you very much! Who CAN change and edit templates and themes? or is there a theme you may be able to recommend that would allow me to display the archive in full (thumbnails)...?

  6. Hi again,

Who CAN change and edit templates and themes?

WordPress.com is a multi-user blogging platform. Here all those who use the same theme are using the same underlying template. Only Staff can access the files and edit as every edit they make affects all blogs using the same theme.

As for your second question I don't know of such a theme and I linked to this above > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/

If you wish to have complete control over a blog, the ability to upload themes and plugins, and to edit themes and templates then your option is to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.org and self host it.

  7. OK, Thank you very much. It all makes sense now.
    Much appreciated!
