"Sidebar" has disappeared & is now "Primary Widget Area"

  1. My Sidebar is gone...all of the widgets I have don't reside on the side & in a stationary spot at the top right of my blog...they are now all at the bottom right side of the blog (where they are essentially unseen unless you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page).

When I am working in the widgets section, it doesn't say "Sidebar" anymore..it says "Primary Widget Area". How did the Sidebar just disappear & more importantly, how the heck do I get it back?

The blog I need help with is malchows.wordpress.com.

  2. How did the Sidebar just disappear & more importantly, how the heck do I get it back?

Sidebars disappear when bloggers copy and paste from elswehere without using icon 5 or 6 in Row 2 of the Visual editor, or when content is imported or when incorrect HTML is in posts or pages or a text widget.

For copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text and here http://en.support.wordpress.com/microsoft-word/#using-word-cleanly

Typically this sidebar ahass fallwn issue is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts. see > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

  3. ahass fallwn = has fallen ***facepalm*** :(
