SIDEBAR REDUX

    My earlier question on this topic did not get the answer I need.

    I come to WordPress from Blog, where each page has a clear editable SIDEBAR to which I can add widgets.

    My online WordPress page has a sidebar. But my Dashboard makes no mention of it. This is a huge inconvenience.

    Am I missing something? YES or NO, does WordPress have a sidebar?

    Sidebars vary with themes. They are organized under the menu Appearance->Widgets. If the theme you've chosen supports widgets (and all but one or two do)you will be able to customize them in the Widgets section.
    Some themes have bottom bars instead of sidebars. The Themes section, again under Appearance can give you some indication as to the type and number of sidebars available for each theme.

    "How to make your name link to your blog:
    Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to 'contact info'. In the spot where it says 'website' fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
    Now... when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won't have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one."
