Sight Theme CSS elements

  1. I'm working on a site, and I've buyed the pro bundle pack to get CSS customization. But I'm unable to to certain things:

    - Center The Top Menu Bar and change it font-size.
    - Edit the Margin of Categories Description Text
    - Edit the Sidebar Menu (Font-Size, Background, etc)
    - Editing the "LATEST ENTRIES" Text.

    I've searched in the forums for weeks, asked the creator of the theme, seems he's far away from the community, and tried so many tutorials. I paste here whats actually in my CSS panel:

    .site-header hgroup {<br /> background: url('http://escritouncine.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/banner-web.png') no-repeat;<br /> margin: 0;<br /> width: 975px;<br /> height: 250px;<br /> }</p> <p>.site-header {<br /> padding: 0;<br /> }</p> <p>a.header-link {<br /> width: 975px;<br /> height: 250px;<br /> }</p> <p>.header-link {<br /> display: table-cell;<br /> }</p> <p>.site-title,.site-description {<br /> text-indent: -9999px;<br /> clip: rect(1px 1px 1px 1px);<br /> }</p> <p>.header-nav-search-container {<br /> display: none;<br /> }</p> <p>.main-navigation a {<br /> font-size: 38px;<br /> color: #000;<br /> }</p> <p>.main-navigation li:hover > a,<br /> .main-navigation ul ul :hover > a,<br /> .main-navigation ul ul a:hover {<br /> color: #FF9900;<br /> text-decoration: none;<br /> }</p> <p>a:hover {<br /> color: #FF9900;<br /> text-decoration: none;<br /> }</p> <p>a:focus {<br /> color: #FF9900;<br /> text-decoration: none;<br /> }</p> <p>a:active {<br /> color: #FF9900;<br /> text-decoration: none;<br /> }</p> <p>a,<br /> a:visited {<br /> text-decoration: none;<br /> }

    Thanks a lot for your time, Hope someone can help me.

    The blog I need help with is escritouncine.com.

  2. Nobody? Really?

  3. Well, I am an irregular forum visitor who sometimes offers comments on CSS. If you can take your answers piecemeal perhaps I can help on some. Try my suggestions in your preview mode since I do not hold myself up to be either "regular" or an expert and at the moment am not in my test environment.

    Try this as a tiny start try this for your font size of your menu items changing the number to get the font size you want.:

    .main-navigation a {
    	font-size: 10px;
    }
  4. Just went to my test environment and that didn't work for me. Will pursue further.

  5. For your top menu font size, this works in my test: Change the number to taste:

    #menu-top-menu a {font-size: 25px;}

  6. For your top menu background, choose your preferred color:

    .main-navigation {background: #eee;}

  7. @houstonweaver
    I'm embarrassed and so sorry I forgot you were helping with CSS editing. I humbly apologize. :(

  8. I see you are making progress on some of the other issues. Why don't you just reply with a punch list of what you do not have when you finish this editing.

  9. @timethief No problem. Nobody can hold a candle to your volunteer work on this forum!

  10. @houstonweaver
    Thanks for being gracious and for even complimenting me.
    I feel so small. :(

  11. I've been searching so long for the web and forum, since my post disappeared in the mount of posts updating everyday I've forgot to see how it was going. Thanks a lot for your answers, as you'll see I'm making a lot of progress in several ways, if anybody wants to know how I did it I'll be pleased to help.

  12. Seems now the only things that remain without answer is changing the font size of entries title appearing in the previews pages like archive, categories or latest entries.

    And of course seems there's now ay to center the damn header menu.

    Posting one question per thread would be really helpful because it helps keep things organized and it makes it easier to search for similar questions and answers in past forum threads. Also, definitely include links to example pages whenever possible.

    I found this category page from your site:
    http://escritouncine.com/category/criticas/para-reirse/

    It looks like you have hidden those titles all together. However, if it were still there, you could adjust it (and all page titles) with CSS like this:

    .page-title {
    	font-size: 2.2em;
    }

    To limit to certain types of pages, such as categories, you can look in the page source and find the body tag to see which classes apply to the type of page you're looking at and add that class as a selector. Here is an example that would affect just category pages since "category" is one of the classes on the body tag in those pages:

    .category .page-title {
    	font-size: 2.2em;
    }
  14. And of course seems there's now ay to center the damn header menu.

    Here's how to center the main menu of the Sight theme using CSS:

    .main-navigation {
    	text-align: center;
    }

    .main-navigation ul {
    	display: inline-block;
    }

    .main-navigation li {
    	margin-bottom: .1em;
    }
