Silesia right sidebar widgets appear on the bottom

  1. I am trying to use the Silesia theme, but the right sidebar widgets appear at the bottom of the page. Any suggestions?

(I started with twenty-ten and then used "Change Appearance" to switch to Silesia.)

The blog I need help with is cdmcclellan.wordpress.com.

  2. Not being able to see your site, since it is private, I will have to guess that this is caused by an HTML error somewhere in a post.

Go to settings > writing and check "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically" and save. Now open your latest post, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it and then click update and check your site again. If all is well, you are golden. If not, open the previous post and do the same thing. Continue with this till you find the post with the error. The change at settings > writing will get WordPress to automatically correct any HTML errors in your posts.

If that doesn't work, we'll have to be able to see your site, so you will have to make it public for a short time so we can look.

  3. I've made the site public now. If you can see anything obvious, let me know.

I tried your advice - it didn't fix the problem, but it was helpful in giving me some methods on working with WordPress. The theme has two templates - the default one with the right sidebar and another one without it. So I also tried toggling back and forth using the same type of method you suggested for the XHTML. Appreciate your help!

  4. Silesia has a responsive layout: the sidebar items drop below the main content when you view the blog on a low resolution screen or mobile device.

  5. Aha, justpi! Thanks very much!
