Simple Plugin needed

  1. Hey Guys,
I am wondering if anyone would be able to help me,
I need to create a plugin that will allow me to send my blog posts data to another mysql database but only when a story gets published.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to make a plugin that will allow my published content to get pushed to another database that would really really help.

  2. Well, first of all, it's not possible to upload plugins to WordPress.com blogs. The ability to upload plugins is only for self hosted WordPress.org blogs. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ to learn about the differences.

Second, to do something like that, it seems to me you would need to pull the data in from the server where the other database is, not push the data out using a plugin. You might be able to write some custom code to do it using your blog's RSS feed and a cron job (just one possible solution).

If you want to talk details, I would recommend posting about it over at http://wordpress.org/support/
