Single post background color?

  1. Hi Guys, I'm sorry to keep asking this question, especially to thesacredpath who has been very helpful but . . .
    I still cannot change the whole background of a single post, and I have now been trying for two days. I tried all the codes that TSP replied to me with and checked out the CSS forum for other similar Q & A's but I just can't seem to get it right.
    I just want to know how to be able to change the background color of a random single post.
    Thank you for taking the time to read this question.

  2. I'm getting worried about you as it seems that you have spent about a month mucking with CSS editing and have not been publishing anything on the blog. I hope you conquer whatever it is visually that's keeping you from blogging and send you my best wishes for that to happen soon.

  3. Thank you timethief. You are right, it seems an eternity I know. The reason is, I have been editing my static pages with decoration and content and want them to look good rather than just thrown together.
    Hoping to be publishing very soon, especially if you could tell me how to change the background color of a random post.

    I am using the toolbox theme.
    Many Thanks BonnyReg

  4. If you want to change the background color for a single post (I don't know what you mean by "random post") you can simply edit the html code on that post in the text editor:

    <div style="background-color:#167382;">CONTENT_HERE</div>
    you can also add a border if you like:
    <div style="background-color:#167382;border:1px solid #000000;padding:12px;">CONTENT_HERE</div>

    Obviously you can change the #HEX numbers to your liking, as well as border style and padding.

  5. Thank you 1tess.
    I will give it a go.

  6. This will change the background color of all posts and pages

    .hentry {
    background: red;
    }`

    This will change the background color of all posts

    .post {
    background: red;
    }

    This would change the color for a specific post by post ID (you would have to determine the post ID by looking in the source code.

    .postid-2223 .hentry {
    background: red;
    }

    I don't know of any way to have a background applied to a post randomly though.
