site is down

  1. I was changing permission with via FTP to CHMOD 666 in order to get Google sitemap plugin to work. I must of done something, because now my site is down. and I get this error when visiting the site. When logging on to my host via FTP, I can't see most of the folders. Did I lose everything? :(

  3. And why would you change anything to 666?

    Files: 644
    Folders: 755

  4. Good point @TSP

    Chmod 666. 666 means read and write access for everyone. When you perform chmod 666 filename command you allow everyone to read and write to the file.
