  1. Hey Bloggers,
This isn't a huge deal so I've brought it to the off topic forum and plus you all seem intelligent also. ;) I've done a forum search and yada, yada, yada...nothing helpful.
Anyway, I've had this huge spike in my stats today, huge. Got up to go pee and well I'm at over 100 just on my homepage BUT I don't know where they are coming from, there isn't a referer listed, no search engine terms, ect... Anyone know what's up?

The blog I need help with is bats0711.wordpress.com.

  2. Well, you killed off the idea of a spam referrer - and that was my first thought! Interesting, but if you have no referrers and no search engine terms, has some one emailed on a link to your blog and people are accessing it that way?

There certain ways of accessing that don't register as referrers or leave a search engine term, but one of the experts will have to update yu on that as I can't remember the details (or find them again).

  3. No referrers at all ? I was about to suggest to look for "stumbleupon" in your stats?

  4. I've got nothing. and that's why i had to ask, just werid.

There certain ways of accessing that don't register as referrers or leave a search engine term,

    huh?

  5. well, one way is to have copied and pasted the URL directly into the browser. I think clicking on links directly from a mail client (i.e. not web mail) doesn't leave a trace.

That is why I wondered if perhaps someone has emailed a link to yur blog to a mailing list or something.

  6. Hey that sounds reasonable, thanks Team. and I never even thought of the c&p idea.
