Sitemapping for visitors (with all posts)

  1. Hi,

With the wordpress.com bundle I thought there would be a *real* site mapping, with a minimum options like all posts by categories...

All I can find is a veryveryvery basic & automatic & non-editable site map for google & friends. It's just there, can't touch it, can't improve it.

Basically I need to show a site map with all posts classified with filters like date and, most important, categories. So that different categories don't mix up.

Please, don't tell me that the only way to do that is to host the site myself ? (... I already paid for the wordpress bundle :/)

    Thanks for your help !

The blog I need help with is lecarreconseil.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry but that is the answer. You will have to hire a web host and set up a wordpress.org install to get what you want.

For free hosted wordpress.com blogs note:

Some themes allow you to create special types of pages, by selecting the appropriate template in the Attributes module of the page editor (note that there are a couple of themes in which those templates seem to be available but actually don’t work). http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/archives-and-links-templates/

  3. Thank you very much for your answer.

I'm trying to play with the [archives] command to get the result I'm looking for, but it seems limited... However in case it could help someone else : http://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/

  4. Oooh may be I'll find the answer here
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/

I'll let you know if I manage to do something with it :)

  5. Well... it works like a charm :)

There were very few options with the shortcode [archives] ; but with the [display-posts] shortcode, almost everything is possible ! By category, by tag, by anything I need...

You know what ? I'm happy...

  6. I'm so glad to hear that. Blog on!
