Skylark headers

  1. I'm working with the Skylark customized theme and I have set up a custom header. But it's taking up too much space on the pages that I'm going to be setting up with gallery images and I'm wondering if it is possible to change it on just those pages or, if not, to just delete it. I realize this theme does not have "featured images" for different pages so it would have to be a custom fix. Thank you in advance.

    The blog I need help with is nmegan.wordpress.com.

  2. Hey. Yes, it's possible to hide the header on individual pages using custom CSS. The snippet you'd need would take the following structure:

    .page-id-?? .header-image {
    display: none;
    }

    The ?? in the snippet should be replaced by the page ID number of the page you wish to target.

    To find the Page ID, in your dashboard area, go to Pages -> All Pages and click the title of the page. The address bar of your browser will display a URL with a numeric ID at the end e.g. "post=25." This number is the page ID.

    For example, the following CSS snippet would hide the header on your "About" page:

    .page-id-1 .header-image {
    display: none;
    }

    Hope this helps. Let me know if anything needs clarifying.

  3. Thanks so much! I will try working with this and see if I have any further questions. Your help is much appreciated.

  4. You're welcome.
