slideshow format changed?

  1. what happened to the old slideshow on the "photographer" theme? The one I was using two days ago allowed me to have a plain large slideshow:

    http://terihavens.wordpress.com

When I try to add a page or edit a page the only option is that small slideshow with the black background.

    I'm using Safari.

    Thanks,

    Teri

The blog I need help with is terihavens.wordpress.com.

  2. I published a menu titled "new slideshow" as an example of the only slideshow that I am currently able to work with. I would really prefer the large white one that can be static (like all the other menus that are on my site). Could WordPress have changed their formatting options two days ago?

Any enlightenment would be so greatly appreciated.

    best,

    Teri

  3. Hi there!

I'd like to take a look at the pages in question, because I think you might be using the WordPress gallery instead of the theme gallery slideshow page template.

Since you seem to be currently editing the pages titled "new slideshow" and "the last free place", I wanted to let you know in case you see me taking over editing of those posts.

If you can let me know if it's ok for me to go in and take over editing, I'll be happy to take a closer look.

    Thank you!

  4. Hello and thank you for your response.

Yes, please go forth and edit. Even though the site is published it is a very new work in progress. The "new slideshow" page is just to exhibit the slideshow that I don't want (for the forum). There are no photos posted on "the last free place" because I deleted them from the library to resize.

    Thanks again!

  5. Thanks for that!

Yes, the "new slideshow" is not set up to use the slideshow template. In the Page Attributes module in the Page Editor, you should have the page template set to "Slideshow" instead of "Default": http://d.pr/i/ZnGX

The instructions on how to properly set up the slideshow template can be found here (scroll down to "Using the Slideshow Page Template?"): http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/photographer/support/

Since you embedded a gallery into the "new slideshow" page, you would have to remove it first in order for the Slideshow page template to work properly.

Also, as a premium themes customer, you do have access to an exclusive forum where you can get help from the theme authors themselves. Here's a link to the forum for the Photographer theme for future reference: http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/photographer

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

  6. Ah, yes, I found it! (Page Attributes under Screen Options).

    All is well.

Thank you Most Awesome One ! I should have sent out a distress call two days ago. It would have saved me hours of anguish.

    teri

  7. I'm glad I could help! :)
