Slideshows

    In a support article http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/ it is mentioned that you can use Slide, Rockyou & Slide Share as alternatives to the WordPress slideshow feature. I have been trying to get all of these to create slideshows but am having problems as follows;

    RockYou - I load the images, go to Save and RockYou gives a message saying slideshow is unavailable. Looking on the t'internet it looks like RockYou might not be allowing the creation of slideshows anymore

    Slide - Similar problem, I load the images go to Save and Slide gives a message saying it is Saving and then just appears to hang, finally crashing IE

    Slideshare is slightly different and may well work. You don't load images, it's more about PowerPoint or documents.

    So my questions are;

    Does WordPress still recommend the above options for Slideshows?
    Are there any alternatives to the three mentioend above?

    I suspect you may have a browser issue. Which browser and version of it are you using please? Have you tried these troubleshooting tips? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/ If your browser version is outdated you can upgrade it here http://browsehappy.com

    I'm running IE9 or Firefox 5. I have just finished some testing and I think I have solved the problem now. Rockyou no longer works and it appears you have to create an account with Badongo. Slide, you actually need to create an account. I thought you could create a slideshow without, it goes through the motions but hangs. As soon as I created an account I could create the slideshow and I've already embedded it in my blog. I also manged to get Slideshare to work as a presentation but in the end went back to Slide.
