   Could we have a small picture of a lock next to protected posts instead of the word "Protected:" in the post titles?

   You can send the request into staff, but I would not hold my breath because it would require the editing of possibly multiple theme PHP script files as well as the CSS files for each theme here at wordpress.COM. Not a small task.
