Snipi Widget for INove Theme

  1. I'd like to use the Snipi widget or something like it. I'm currently using INove theme and it doesn't look like that widget is available. Anyone know who I would go about finding out which theme I might have to use in order to be able to implement the Snipi widget? Thanks!

The blog I need help with is johnmurphyreports.com.

  2. All themes here at wordpress.COM have the same widgets, and most third-party widget code out there will not work here because they use code that is not allowed here due to security concerns. You would have to find some snipi widget code on the internet and then as long as it was plain HTML with no javascript or flash or iframes or forms, it would probably work in a text widget. I'm not really familiar with snipi and don't know of anyone using it.

  3. Thanks. I'm debating moving over to WordPress.org and having my blog hosted so I can do a few more customized things with my blog. Thanks for your insight on this matter!

  4. Here's the link to the support documentation entry that clearly states the differences between free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.com on this multi-user blogging platform, and free standing wordpress.ORG installs for self hosting.

    Hope this helps.

So for importing a non wp widget would this be the way? How would we know if it is plain HTML ? I joined a writing site called Triond and they offer a widget to direct traffic or advertise my stuff. Is that safe?

  6. If you see javascript, script, flash, swf, embed, form, iframe, .php, .js, it isn't going to work. There are also restrictions on plain HTML as well.
