Some blogs fail to open after I comment on them -'network connection was reset'

    Hi,

For a few days now if I've visited some (but not all) blogs, if I return I occasionally get this message:

    'Safari can’t open the page.

Safari can’t open the page “http://garethleaney.wordpress.com/2011/06/15/born-this-way-by-lady-gaga-2/” because the network connection was reset. This problem can occur if either the server or the network connection is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.'

Also I've noticed my text staying in the comment box even after I post a comment - OR - if I don't post it and return to the blog later my old half finished *unposted* comment is still in the text ox (maybe that is a new feature????)

I've tried clearing history and cache and it worked in one case but doesn't seem to now....

I can reach most blogs including my own OK - it' just one or two blogs and always when I am returning to a blog after previously visiting and commenting (or 'draft commenting' but not posting it).

Once a blog won't open the problem persists... yet I can still reach other blogs no problem!?

    TIA! :)

The blog I need help with is abandonculture.wordpress.com.

  2. network connection resets are typically to do with your ISP and internet connection. Have you tried rebooting your modem? I have this issue from time to time with my Verizon mi-fi wireless internet service and sometimes it goes on for days and then clears up. Verizon always says there is nothing wrong (right).

  3. Regarding the connection rest I cannot help you.

Also I've noticed my text staying in the comment box even after I post a comment - OR - if I don't post it and return to the blog later my old half finished *unposted* comment is still in the text ox (maybe that is a new feature????)

WordPress.com uses cookies to keep track of commenters so if someone makes a comment on your blog, the next time they come to your blog, unless they have cleared their cookies, WordPress.com will recognize them and complete the details for them. No one else will be able to view those details. The next person who comments will see blank fields. Commenters will not see each other’s details.

  4. What I said about cookies also applies to you. Unless you log out and clear your browser cache and cookies you will see the half-done comment you began.

    Thanks all....

I remember how I sorted it last time - it actually wasn't history or cache (although I tried that) it was to delete all cookies associated with wordpress.

Just tried that and I can now access a blog that was giving me probs before, so that solved it.

Just mentioning in case a help to others.

  6. Thanks for sharing how you resolved this. Best wishes with your blog. :)
