If you don't want to do it yourself see this information:

    Guided Transfers

If you want to move your WordPress.com blog to a self-hosted blog using the WordPress.org software, you have the option to purchase a Guided Transfer. One of our Happiness Engineers will transfer over all your content, install and configure plugins to support features you have used on WordPress.com, switch your domain(s) over, and provide support on your new WordPress.org install for a two-week period.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

The Guided Transfer is a one-time fee of $129.00 per blog transferred, and is available for purchase from our Store.

  3. i have already opened an account with blue host can this not be cheaper? thank you

  4. The Guided Transfer is what you pay to have staff move your WordPress.com site to your hosted wordpress.ORG site.

You can do it yourself with the first link I gave you above:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

  5. its ok i just purchased it, thank you for your help.

  6. You're welcome. Best wishes on your new site.

  7. Does anyone know if the Guided transfer includes setting up the theme for your blog on wordpress.org? I heard that the theme i have currently on wordpress.com is exclusive to wordpress.com and it would have to be recreated... Before I purchase, I am wondering if the transfer covers this in the fee or not...

    Thanks for any help!
Basically I want start to finish transfer :) So when it is done, it is functioning just as it is now, looks the same ideally etc..

  8. Please read what's stated here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/guided-transfer/

  9. If you are referring to a Premium theme then read this too > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/premium-themes/

  10. Thank you! I did see that already..only part it seems like would include what I am talking about it is this "Transferring over your entire WordPress.com site."...Just making sure before I spend $129.. it doesn't explicitly say brings the theme over/design etc...

  11. The premium theme section clearly states this:

Note: Premium Themes are customized for WordPress.com usage only, and cannot be transferred to self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

If any Staff member is going to set up a theme for you and it's not just and installation job, but you expect work to be done on the theme then I would expect that would not be covered in the price of the guided transfer. Installing a theme takes a couple of minutes. Customizing one can take hours and even days.

Please post the URL for your blog starting with http:// and note that I have flagged this thread for a Staff response.

  12. I have located your blog wearing the Forever theme which cannot be exported and used on a WordPress.org install. Note that the Forever theme design is based on the Colorway Theme http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/colorway and that is a WordPress.org theme.

What does the Guided Transfer include?
Installing the WordPress software at the recommended host of your choice.
Transferring over your entire WordPress.com site.
Installing and configuring Jetpack and a few other plugins to provide features that you have been using on WordPress.com.
Configuring and testing permissions so that you’ll be able to have one-click installs and upgrades.
    Switching your domain(s) over.
Providing full support for you on your new WordPress installation for a two week period.

  13. So no, it does not include setting up the theme.
