Soundcloud & Visual Editor

    Hi,

    I am trying to put my soundcloud shortcode in the (html) visual editor. However, nothing happens once the code is there. The visual parte of the editor displays the code itself. Obvisouly, there is some I am missing. When using a text widget, it works great. But I need to insert the soundcloud player directly on a page/post. (I am on WordPress.com)

    Please help!

    The visual editor will not show the soundcloud player. You have to preview the actual post to see the player.

    And are you inserting the code when the HTML tab is active in the editor?

    Funny thing, since nothing was showing up in the visual editor, it lislead me to think it was not working at all. Following your advice, I previewed the actual page in the site, and bingo, all is fine!

    You are welcome. On any of the shortcodes (videos, soundcloud, etc.) they will not show up in the editor. You have to preview to make sure they are there and working.

    Hello,

    I have inserted the soundcloud shortcode into my Visual editor, but when I preview the soundcloud player does not display. There is just a large white rectangle where the player should appear. I've followed all the instructions online, but just cannot get it to work.

    Any ideas?

    @orpheus1000: What's the exact Soundcloud code you are inserting?

    It is:

    [soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/22083508"]

    This was the shortcode provided when I clicked on Share to WordPress. I also made sure that the track is public. The track itself on SoundCloud works fine.

    I just can't see what I'm doing wrong.

    The following worked just fine for me, but what I did was to put the code into the HTML tab in the editor, not into the visual tab. I've had poor results putting soundcloud or audio code into the visual editor and now I always do it in the HTML tab.
