When I cut and paste lines from my MS Word to my blog a line is add in between each sentence.
i.e. My Word document is single spaced but when I paste it into the blog it becomes double spaced.
How can I stop this from happening ?

Cutting and pasting from MS Word is generally not a good idea, as that it creates very messy HTML, and most of it gets stripped when you paste it.
You can either try using the paste from Word button on your post editor's toolbar or else use a desktop application, such as Live Writer from Microsoft (Windows only).
You are absolutely right. Windows Live Writer is a great way to blog !
You will get double spacing between paragraphs in every theme here of which I’m aware. To get single spacing hold the SHIFT key down when you click ENTER at the end of the paragraph.
