Spam comments. What to do?

    Hi. What do you do about spam comments? When I first started my blog I posted any comment that came through. I was glad to get comments. Then, I learned about spam comments. And it finally dawned on me that that's what many of the comments that I was getting were. I don't aim to give out free publicity or intend for my blog to become a floating billboard for someone else, but occasionally these people do make some valid points. So I wondered if I could get some opinions or advice about this. How do you guys deal with spam?

    The blog I need help with is virginitysvoice.com.

    I don't post spam because approving spam simply attracts more spam. To put things in perspective the majority of al "information" on the internet is spam and over 80% of all comments submitted to .wordpress.com blogs every day are spam. If you see a lot of spam directed at a single post double check every comment you approved as if one of them is a spam comment then other spam is sure to follow.     Oddly enough, since I posted this question here I been getting even more spam. Thanks for the advice timetheif, I'll check out that article.
