My understanding is that the spam caught by Akismet are NOT counted among page hits, is that correct?
I'm suddenly getting a lot of page hits per day (today it was 130, a new high), but I also got 103 spam messages. I'm just hoping I don't have to mentally adjust my numbers downward....
I believe you're correct; staff have said that they don't count bots and spiders, and most spam is automated, so they wouldn't count that. They would count manual spammers, though.
That's a scary thought. If I turn on all my comment pages I get something like 3000 spam a day.
That why now my count is trusted ;)
