Spun Theme: Hide Footer (Theme / WordPress.com Links)

  1. Hello & Thanks for stopping by!

I've purchased the CSS upgrade option because I would like to hide the advertising of wordpress and the Spun theme thats located in the footer of my wordpress.com site.

I have tried several CSS codes that I found online to hide the footer, but none seem to work. I don't know much about CSS but I do know how to search the web and copy/paste code!

My heads agains the wall. Is this possible?

Can anyone please link me the exact CSS code I need to plug in to make this eyesore go away please :)

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is mountainofyouth.net.

Then you did not read the Terms of Service or the Custom Design Frequently asked questions.

You are not allowed to remove or hide the footer credit links. Doing so is a terms of Service violation that will get your blog suspended.

    11. Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased. http://en.wordpress.com/tos/

Does the Custom Design upgrade let me edit HTML?
No. The Custom Design upgrade allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications, suitable hosts can be found here. http://get.wp.com/hosting/ Read more about why here. http://support.wordpress.com/code/ You can choose to apply your custom fonts or custom stylesheet to any of the themes available on WordPress.com. You can use any WordPress.com theme as a blank canvas if you check the Don’t use the theme’s original CSS option in the Appearance → Customize → CSS panel. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

  3. Provided you are logged in under the same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade, you ought to be able to request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

Note: It takes from 1 - 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

  4. Bummer to hear. Guess I'm not surprised though.

Thanks very much for your reply, greatly appreciated!

  5. You're welcome. I have blogged for over 8 years and I'll wager that the number of people who even look at the footer link credits is negligible.
