Stats and Subscribers

  1. Hi

I've just moved to self-hosted and installed the Jetpack plugin. Can you please move my stats and subscribers/email followers?

The blog I need help with is makingthemostofme.wordpress.com.
and the new location (self hosted) is http://www.makingthemostofme.com

    Many Thanks
    Frank

  2. Staff can do this for you. I tagged this thread for their assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

  3. Thanks timethief :-)

  4. You're welcome.

  5. I've transferred your subscribers as requested.

I noticed that your new site's URL is:

    http://174.120.62.194/~fmason/makingthemostofme.com/

I recommend updating that to makingthemostofme.com if you can, otherwise you may encounter problems in the future. You may need to disconnect from and reconnect to Jetpack after you update the site URL.

  6. Thanks Kathryn.

Hmm bit confused by your comment though as I (thought I had) updated my dns settings etc so that its all http://www.makingthemostofme.com now. The url you quoted is the temp one given to me by the hosting company (host gator) and the one I was using to set up wp before I repointed the dns from 1and1 (via an a-record for host gator)

Where did you come across it? Im not sure how/where I need to update it? is it a setting on the wp dashboard?

    Thanks for pointing this out..
    Regards Frank

  7. Hi Kathryn. I deactivated jetpack and reactivated as you suggested and now have lost all my stats and subsribers !

Please can you get them back for me again asap.

    Thanks
    Regards, Frank

  8. Hi Frank,

With Jetpack, your stats information is connected to a unique blog ID. Sometimes, if a site owner was using a development site or a different address when they set up Jetpack, disconnecting may create a new blog ID. When this happens, it may appear that your stats were lost.

That's what happened on your site; as Kathryn noted, it previously used a different site URL, http://174.120.62.194/~fmason/makingthemostofme.com/

I have fixed the issue, and you should be able to get your Stats and Subscribers back by going to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and disconnecting / reconnecting to WordPress.com.

    Thank you.

  9. Thanks Jeherve - all seems to be OK
