STILL can't upload pictures into posts! Please help.

  1. I uploaded the new internet explorer, new Flash & everything eles- etc etc... and still NOT working.

When the Media Library box finally opens up, I select the image I want to use BUT then the box turns white and stays that way!

It keeps staying white, every single time! I can't stand it, I haven't been able to update my site in over a month (with pictures) Nevermind refreshing the screen/browser, this problem happends constantly. It shouldn't be this complicated to use. I noticed that many, many people here are having similar problems, but is there a resonable solution that doesn't require downloading software? Please help.

  2. upload your pictures into photobucket then copy the [img] code into HTML section.should do wonders =)

  3. I tried what you said & it didn't work. I got an [x] :(

  4. If you can see the image but not send it to the blog: Once the image is uploaded, get the URL which is displayed in the Upload box right after you upload it. Copy it, then put it in the post via the Image Icon, the tree.

If you can't upload the image at all, use either Photobucket or Flickr to host your images. Photobucket unfortunately gives you too many kinds of code to choose from. Make sure you JUST get the URL. If you want to code in the Code editor, get the proper version of the code: the one with the pointy brackets.

  5. But I tried all of that and it didn't work:

I logged into photobucket, get the URL "for website or blog". Then in WordPress, I click on the tree, add image from URL, I copy paste it, click ok. Then I get that [x] again. Is there a step I'm missing?

Is a HTML the same thing as a URL?

  6. No, it's not. What code are you getting? You want the one that is JUST the URL, to keep things as simple as possible.

  7. Paste the different options here between backticks. I can't get my Photobucket account to open. Oh hell, maybe THEY'VE banned me too. Fine. I've still got my poetry.

Paste the code between backticks, all the different options (four I think). So it's like backtick, code, code, code, code, backtick. Backticks are the little things on the same key as the ~

  8. get the one with [img] code

if i remember correctly its the last option when u view your album

then go to your post, juggle to HTML and paste it there

  9. I had a similar problem but have now overcome it. I could upload images to the media library but couldn't get them in the post.
Now I highlight the URL and copy it before it goes to the library. Close the upload media box. Place my cursor in the post where I wish the image to go. Then open the box where the tree is. Paste the URL and insert to post. Works for me this way. Hope it helps.
    I am using flash uploader.
I also just had the problem of the media box being half obscured & immovable. Have solved that by clearing cookies and temp. internet files, then restarting the computer.

  10. How do you upload to the Media Library? I do not see an Upload button there.

  11. I was able to upload pics up until yesterday. I have Vista and IE. The problem now is that when I select the 'Upload Media' icon, like I always have before, the window that comes up is waaaay down the page with the bottom half cut off so you can't do anything with it! And it's locked there. You can't click and drag it up into view.

Help!? It was fine until yesterday and I haven't changed a thing.

    Grrr..... :(

  12. A little more detail to my last post:

    Here's what I do...step by step:

While writing or editing, I select the "Add image" little gray icon beside the 'Add Media' words.
The background page (my blog page) goes gray, as usual.
The little white media-adding screen comes up.... but... it's cut off, meaning, the top half is visible, up to the point where it says this:

    --OR--
    From URL

From there on down, it's chopped off. And it's frozen in that position. YOu can't drag it up. Therefore, it's unusable.

Like I mentioned, I uploaded images up to yesterday.

  13. @arianskyy

after u uploaded your pic with media ,then go to library,go to the pic u wanna upload then click show

should be able to scroll from that window and adjust size, positions etc =)

    hope it helps

  14. I am having all these problems too, I am quite computer savvy but I am really not interested in learning html, that's why I chose WordPress for my blog, but I am getting tired of struggling like this, can someone recommend a good alternative blog hosting service.

  15. I'm French and I have the same problem than Arianskyy : "While writing or editing, I select the "Add image" ...The little white media-adding screen comes up.... but... it's cut off, meaning, the top half is visible, up to the point where it says this:--OR--". I don't understand your responses. Is it possible to obtain a response in French ?

Je suis française et ne comprends pas bien vos réponses. J'ai exactement le même problème que Ariansky. Quelqu'un peut-il m'expliquer en français comment retrouver une fenêtre de taille normale ?
    Merci d'avance

  16. to riraito:

I am not able to do anything with images now... that is the problem. So, your suggestion, although appreciated----- "after u uploaded your pic with media ,then go to library,go to the pic u wanna upload then click show

should be able to scroll from that window and adjust size, positions etc =)"----- does not apply.

I CAN'T upload a pic with media any more. The screen is cut in half and UNUSABLE.

    I hope this makes sense??

  17. To riraito:

    Sorry, another add-on to above:

I can SELECT the 'Library' from the chopped off screen and see on it's listing SOME of the images that have been loaded by me, but again, I cannot DO ANYTHING with them because all of the action SELECTIONS are in the part of the screen that are CHOPPED OFF.

    I'm not shouting. I'm just frustrated. :(

  18. I was able to upload pics up until today. I have Windows XP. The problem now is that when I select the 'Upload Media' icon, like I always have before, the window that comes up is waaaay down the page with the bottom half cut off so you can't do anything with it! And it's locked there. You can't click and drag it up into view.

Help!? It was fine until this afternoon and I haven't changed a thing. (Thanks to arianskyy!)
I do not know a lot about computers, but I blogged for months without problems. Why cannot I go on, it's frustrating

  19. Force a refresh on your browser...

    Clear the browser's cache...

The browser is using an old version of our code.

  20. Hi again,

Well, I actually had to delete all stuff from IE, reboot and now, presto. It's fine.

So you mean your code changed then from yesterday to today?

Refreshing did not do anything. I had to clear all stuff from IE Properties menu and completely reboot.

I can't figure out for the life of me how to use the pics that are there in my Gallery. I've tried and tried and still to no avial. But never mind. I just uploaded it again and I can insert it into my post just fine.

    Thanks.

  21. One of the themes I used on a client's blog wouldn't let me upload images. I have to manually create an image folder for each month in the Uploads folder using ftp.

  22. I've had the same issue for the last week - cannot get images into my posts. Will this be fixed or do I now have to get a but more fancy and creative with image uploads?

Obviously something is wrong with the image uploader/format engine???

  23. I had problems when I upgraded to 2.5.1. I then upgraded my flash and that worked for a couple of days. I'm using Windows XP. I've tried all the suggestions above but no luck. After I choose a picture from my gallery, I click on insert to post and that screen then goes blank and nothing happens. This was exactly what used to happen before I upgraded the Flash!! So I'm back to square one!

  24. I have the same problem as Arianskyy, never before yesterday had I a single problem with uploading images. Yesterday the box was cut off, but I could uload through Library and show...anoying though. Today, when clicking on upload image, the screen goes dark grey and I can see just one third of a media box, completely blank, so there is no chance to use Library. At the bottom left side of the screen I see "Error on page", yesterday it was the same plus "Done, but with errorrs on pages"...

  25. @ernie1959 - If you upgraded on your own, you're in the wrong place. Our software is slightly different and solutions for our blogs might not be appropriate, as you've discovered.

Self-hosted blogs are supported at wordpress.org/support.

  26. Hi ellaella, I'm new at this so not sure what you mean? I go through a web host's Cpanel that has Simple Scripts which I used for my WordPress upgrade to 2.5.1 My web host directed me here as they could not help me with the problems I'm having.

  27. Levraoueg:

C'est ce que j'ai fait. J'ai suivi les liens dans le message de Mtdewvirus.
    J'ai IE7 alors, j'ai fait:
    1. choisir "Tools" sur IE7
    2. choisir "Internet Options"
    3. sous "Browsing history", choisir "delete" (supprimer)
    4. revenir à votre blog and fait "refresh"

Ainsi j'ai reussi à retrouver une fenêtre de taille normale pour poster les images.

  28. Ernie, you need to be at WordPress.org. We can't help you here.

  29. Just to add, having the same problem as shinseimori here, & it just started today, AFTER upgrading Flash version etc. etc. -- any real fixes yet?

  30. Also, many thanks to artintegrity for the suggestion.

I have gotten pretty close to what I wanted this morning, after an hour of hacking around (since this is all learn-by-doing), by copying the image link url from the library, copying the code from an earlier post that worked, and adjusting the 'width="nnn"' and 'height="nnn"' numbers to something reasonable, with the help of my photo software.

Still, I'd rather just have the uploader do it for me.
