Structure Theme, larger custom header?

  1. Hi

    I am currently previewing Custom CSS editing with my blog http://studio2792.wordpress.com before I purchase the upgrade. I want to make sure I can customize certain things before I buy it outright. I am using the Structure Theme, and the image I want to use for the custom header is larger than the recommended 960x120 pixel limit for header images.

    Is there a way using CSS to avoid cropping the header image to this height?

    The blog I need help with is studio279.wordpress.com.

  2. To change the header image to larger than 960x120px in the Structure theme, you would need to replace the image on the CSS side and also adjust the image container height. Try this:

    #header h1 a, #header h1 a:visited {
    background: url(http://studio2792.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/alternate-studio-279-news-logo-1.jpg?w=807) no-repeat top;
    }

    #header h1 a {
    height: 339px;
    }

    .headerright { top: 0; }

    Adjust the image URL and height as necessary. Make sure to use an image URL from your media library for this kind of change.

  3. @designsimply Thanks for the response. That works perfectly. I'll be sure to play around with different sizes to see which looks best, but thanks for helping me out!
