Why is my Sub Domain not pointing to wordpress?

  1. I have set up my doamain as follows:
    blog 14400 IN CNAME katinimages.wordpress.com.
But it still won't point to wordpress. Any ideas??
    Blog url: http://katinimages.wordpress.com/

  2. I don't see any domain mapping purchases on your account. You'll need to purchase a domain mapping subscription for the subdomain in order to proceed.

You can do this by adding the subdomain via Upgrades -> Domains in your blog's Dashboard.

  3. Yes but I can't do that until it's added (or at least it won't let me). I'm getting to "Someone (maybe you?) already registered blog.katinimages.com, but the domain is not pointing to WordPress.com." I do own this domain and it is already in use as katinimages.com

  4. There should be a proceed anyway button. In this case, you'll need to use that. As it's an externally controlled subdomain, there's no way to be 100% sure that it's set correctly until a mapping subscription is established.

  5. No "proceed anyway" button! This is what I see
"Someone (maybe you?) already registered blog.katinimages.com, but the domain is not pointing to WordPress.com.
I own this domain. Help me fix it!
You must make some changes to your domain before we can continue. (Sorry about the technical jargon!) The preferred method is to use the tools provided by your registrar to add a CNAME record. It should look like this:
    blog 14400 IN CNAME katinimages.wordpress.com.
Each registrar has its own method of adding CNAME records. The important parts of this record are your subdomain ("blog") and your original blog domain ("katinimages.wordpress.com").
(If you have already done this it may take several hours for the changes to be recognized here. Please try again in a little while.)
If you need more information, see our Mapping a Subdomain support guide.
I don’t own this domain. Can I try another?
Go ahead. Try as many as you like to find that perfect domain.

and yes I have waited a while 24 hours, in fact.

  6. Ok I've now got this working. Apprently its not necessarily the registar that you have to create the CNAME with but the whoever its pointing to, which could be the host.
