Subscribers cannot subscribe!

    Hello,

    I have plagued a few friends to subscribe to my blog, many did but when I went to hassle the ones that had not they said they had and then forwarded the email notification they had been sent and confirmed. However they do not register in my list of email subscribers and nor do they receive notifications of my blogs - there are at least ten people who this has happened to.

    What gives?

  2. The email subscribe is a two step process:

    1) click on the subscribe Widget on your site
    2) click on the "yes I want to really subscribe" link in the email

    Most of the problems seem to be when subscribers don't click on the confirm link in the email - this is an opt-in feature to prevent me from signing you up for all sorts of blogs.

    Make sure your friends have clicked on the "confirm" link in the email - also my last subscriber took a few hours or more to show up in the subscriber count from the time I got the email that said I had a new subscriber.

    I fear it is something wrong with the site,. they are clicking on confirm but still not receiving notifications and they are still not registed as subscribers. If they try to resubscribe they are told they have already subscribed.

    Are they WordPress.com members? If so they can contact Staff using this link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

    If they aren't you can get their details from them and use the same link to contact Staff with the details.
