Subscription form to Feedburner or Mailchimp

  1. Hi,

I really need to insert a subscription form on my website. I understand wordpress.com does not allow such forms.
I was thinking about subscribing and paying 18 USD for my own domain, but if I can't insert a simple subscription form on my webpage, then that puts the deal behind a great deal. Sorry, but I'm really frustrated.

    Really need help : (

    Many thanks!

The blog I need help with is clarawaibel.wordpress.com.

  2. WordPress.com does have blog subscriptions. You can set up email subscriptions by using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/

If you would like a follow button to appear on the bottom right hand corner of your site for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts see here >
    http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/09/21/more-traffic-for-your-blog-with-the-follow-button/

You can set up a customized contact form http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ on a static page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ or in a text widget http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/ and above that form you can clearly state that you are asking for those who wish to have their email address "captured" to use it.

  3. You can use Feedburner if you prefer but you can't integrate it into the blog. You simply post a text widget with the subscribe code in it in your sidebar.

As you noted there are code restrictions here at WordPress.com http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ Unless mailchimp has a plain HTML option for their code (no form code, iframe or javascript) then you are not going to be able to use it here at wordpress.com. It could be that you can get some HTML link code from them that will allow people who click on the link to be directed to a signup form at mailchimp. I suggest you ask them.

  4. Yes, that is what I'm doing right now (I added the link, which directs to the subscription form). I tried adding the code to a static page but it didn't work as well.

I really want the subscription form to be at the page. Mailchimp and feeburner have codes for subscription forms, but wordpress doesnt accept them. I've seen many websites with these subscription forms, but I'm sad to see wordpress doesn't support them as they're a key tool to establishing a brand (no spam emails, but monthly digest to the readers I mean.)

Very disappointed, trully. : / But thank you so much for your help! : )
