    Hello, I noticed that my email subscribers will see the full text as I publish my new posts in their email notifications. The photos do not show and the text is not laid out as I typed it. Since it will be a bit of a poetry/devotional/creative writing blog- I do not want readers to see my posts without all the goodies. Is it possible for my subscribers to be enticed to visit with a little teaser- rather than having the text show up over email?

    Use the excerpt function to format, including photos, what goes out via email subscriptions.

    This function is not active in all themes, but in twenty-ten, it works for category, archive pages, and for subscriptions.

    With regard to email subscriptions Staff have told us that each email client presents the published posts we send out in different ways. So it may appear differently to different email clients. You will find that gmail does not present the posts as you may expect it to.

    Good point. But some of the formatting is retained, and photos do appear in gmail, and the other email clients I use. Excerpts also allow the writer to reveal as little or as much of a post as they want: a sort of customized summary…

    Not perfectly in your control, but it works well enough to put out a teaser to your subscribers.

    The Excerpt module is under the editor box.

    Thank you TT. I did read the article. I went to settings>reading> From there I changed "For each article in a feed, show" Full text or summary- I changed my setting from full text to summary.
    Does that mean the next time I post there will only be a short summary on my page- or does that mean that my subscribers will only see a summary?

    Hello there! My RSS feed is showing only summaries of my posts and not the full posts themselves. I've already checked in settings at General->Reading->"For each article in a feed, show:"--and it is already set to "Full text". Can I fix this? or is it a system problem?

    I need help. People can't seem to subscribe to my blog. They are redirected to a blank page when the click the "sign me up!" button. how do i troubleshoot this?

    My first suggestion would be to log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then log back in and try again.
