suggestions required for design to mimic poetry book

    Hi

    I'm a writer, looking to use a wordpress blog to make public some unpublished work/work in progress.

    I'm very new to wordpress, so seeking some advice as to the most simple, elegant and easily implemented design.

    (I'm using the "enterprise" theme.)

    Example: I want to make public a 3-volume book. The book is called 'W', and there are 3 volumes, X, Y and Z. In each volume there are, say, 15 poems.

    I'm happy at present simply to have the individual volumes set up as pages, in other words, for an entire volume to be available on a single page, with the reader scrolling down the series from 1 to 15.

    Is the most logical architecture for the blog? If you were to set up a site with a similar aim, what would you do?

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Depends on how long those "say, 15 poems" are: too much scrolling isn't very user-friendly. You can use the nextpage tag after each poem to split each page into a series of numbered pages. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/nextpage/

    Thanks very much for the responses.

    @ panaghiotisadam: In this particular case, the poems are generally quite long, so it would be good to give the reader a break from scrolling. It would also be useful for me to be able to amend the poems individually, so to be able to navigate the site more easily.

    @ timethief: I'll certainly check out the link. I'm probably trying to run before I can walk...

    I'm thinking that maybe combining the two will produce what you want. You will have a book-like structure and still use pagination (next page) to create a series of numbered pages. You're welcome. :)

    Perhaps I'm old-skool, but I'd suggest simply doing this with categories and a static front page with the links right on it, eg:

    Book One: The Descent from Overworld

    - Poem 1
    - Poem 2
    - Poem 3

    etc

    @ raincoaster: Nothing wrong with old-skool...

    I can see there are various ways of doing this... I'll need to apply myself, and maybe attend night-skool for a while...
