Switching back to retired theme Vigilence

  1. I accidentally changed to a new theme, thinking it was only a preview. My old theme, Vigilance, is retired, so I don't seem to be able to switch back!!

How can I undo this?? I've branded a logo to match the Vigilance theme.

    Tears are about to ensue...

The blog I need help with is fototype.wordpress.com.

  2. Retired means no longer available in newly created blogs: blogs created before a theme becomes retired aren't affected.

  3. What finally worked was to go to Appearance/Themes while in my dashboard, and search for the theme from there. Eventually my theme came up, with the option to save and activate it. (It seemed that I had to do this several times; I don’t know why the option never appeared when I initially kept trying to switch back.)

Searching from http://theme.wordpress.com/ did not even generate a result for my theme name. The key seemed to be searching from the dashboard.

    All drama has subsided.

  4. "What finally worked" is what I had already implied. As I said, "blogs created before a theme becomes retired aren't affected": that is, you go to Appearance > Themes and activate the theme the way you wold activate any other theme.

"Searching from http://theme.wordpress.com/ did not even generate a result for my theme name." Yes: retired themes are hidden from view in the Theme Showcase site. You can see them this way:
