Switching from 1 sidebar to 2 sidebars: Problem

    I have a long sidebar in “Misty Look” and need more sidebars so am switching to “Digg.” The problem is that in dividing up the items into two sidebars, it appears that I will lose half of my previous work, since I have to clear out half of Sidebar1 and then reinstate it in Sidebar2. I experimented by Removing one of the short text items in the “Misty Look” sidebar, and when I did, that textbox with the text in it disappeared.

    Do I really have to re-write/re-enter all of the text that I want to slide over to Sidebar2? Or is there a procedure involved which would spare me the time in doing so? (I hope!)

    Thank you in advance, and I want to say now that ever since switching from Blogger, my life in formatting a blog is so much easier, and I love the themes. I feel very comfortable with the accommodations here!

    The only way that I am aware of is to copy the text and paste in into the new widget. (I actually copy the text and paste it into notepad to save it, just in case.)

    Once you delete the text widget, the info is gone.

    Thank you for the info about copying and pasting. I can do that and will, now that I know that there is no other way.

    New question that I did not foresee: If it is not a text widget but something like Stat Counter or Comments or Recent Post and I want to switch sides, then what? Do I lose all of the post histories and comments?
