Table (lines) doesn't show in Superhero

  1. Hello there.

I'm using a customised Superhero theme. I want to insert a table into a blog post in quick & easy way, and used Google sites to do the table, then copied the html into my blog page.

However, the table doesn't have any lines /borders ... only the content (text). The text does show in the correct places under correct headers with correct formatting, but the table itself - by which I mean the visual part/borders, doesn't show.

I tried experimenting with doing the table on some other platforms as well and copy in the html, with same (or worse results).

This is what I think I may need to do to solve it: change the part of my blog's CSS that dictates what a table looks like in the posts. I could do that I guess (although not as "quick & easy" as I wanted) and if it works that would fix it for all future tables.

    - Can anyone with experience confirm that above is what I need to do, so I'm not wasting my time?

    Thanks.

    Anna

The blog I need help with is mados.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi Anna,

Your right in your thinking that if you write some CSS code and put in in the Custom CSS of your site you can add the borders for the tables and their cells.

It would depend on how you wrote the code but you certainly could write it once and have it change the display for all tables within posts.

If you want some help with the code I'd be happy to assist if I can.
If you had an example on a post you could link to it would make it easier to work with.

  3. Anna, since it has been over a week, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread, but if you need help with table code, please feel free to start a new thread in the CSS forums and we would be more than happy to help you with any customizations. With HTML5, a lot of the older attributes for table styling are no longer supported so inline CSS styles are used now instead.
