Tags and Categories

  1. Hello - I'm wondering why some tags do not show up in the tag cloud. For instance, in my last post, the quote...the tags do not show up. Can anyone help? Also, is there a way to select a category for a post before it is published?

The blog I need help with is carolwelsh.wordpress.com.

  2. The tag cloud displays up to 45 tags (the most used ones). You can go to Posts > Tags and delete some of your tags: tags such as "full" or "interesting" make no sense.

When you create a post, you select an existing category or add a new one in the Categories module of the editor. If you're not seeing the Categories module while on the post editor screen, click Screen Options (top right) to activate it.

  4. Thanks for the help! And now I feel just a little bit stupid...OF COURSE, why would I have tags such as "interesting"?? I'm still really new at all of this, and I certainly appreciate the help. I try to figure it out on my own, but sometimes it's seems like trying to solve a puzzle trying to find the right answer. Thanks again!
