Text problems

  1. Whenever I try changing the colour, alignment or font of the text,it all changes, even if I highlight them. For instance,I've written:
    "Hello there!
    My name's Pikachu"
And I want to change the colour of "Hello",to blue,it does it to every single letter, which is ANNOYING. The same with text as well.
As for the alignment, there is not 'Justified Alignment' option, which is quite stupid.
WordPress is beginning to become crap, crap, crap. (Sorry for the bad language).
Getting a custom background or even getting an Xat chat box onto a site is difficult. Some stupid Java-script security. That's just lame.

The blog I need help with is everythingweekly.wordpress.com.

  2. Is this the blog in question? http://everythingweekly.wordpress.com/
If it isn't then post the URL starting with http:// for the blog you are referring to.

These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.
    (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

    (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

A few themes do provide for changing font color in the Blog Title and/or optional Tagline and/or links. In the majority of themes font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, menu, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings, comments and links cannot be done without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/color-customisable-themes/

  3. As for the alignment, there is not 'Justified Alignment' option, which is quite stupid.

What are you trying to justify and why?
As I'm a visually challenged person with lots of life experience and web experience too and my opinion of justified text is the exact opposite of yours. It's not user friendly and makes detracts from readability.

  4. Getting a custom background or even getting an Xat chat box onto a site is difficult.

Provide one chooses a theme that provides for a custom background as these ones including yours does http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/custom-background/ then it's easy to go here > Settings > Background and set up a cusom color or custom image background. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-backgrounds/

Some stupid Java-script security. That's just lame.

I'm assuming your have very little web experience and do not know how JavaScript operates. Our blogs are not free standing blogs. All blogs here are on the same multi-user blogging platform. One instance of bad script in one blog could bring down many blogs.
Why javascript is a security risk
