Text Widget Image Not Resizing

  1. I want to add two social media images on my sidebar side by side. I have figured out how to do this by creating a draft post, adding the images, linking each one, sizing them to 100 x 100 pixels, and then copying the code and adding it to the text widget html box. The problem is, the two images end up huge, and not 100 x 100. It's like it's being overwrited by my theme's defaults?
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks so much!

The blog I need help with is silkandspiceblog.wordpress.com.

  2. Since you don't display them on your site, it will be a little more difficult to help.

Did you actually resize the images in an image editing program before uploading them or are you resizing them by adding 100 x 100 to the image code?

  3. Hello! I took them off because they were huge and looked ridiculous.
To answer your question- I did both.
    Thanks!

  4. Hi I put them back up on my blog in hopes it will be easier for someone to help.
I am also copying the code I used:
    <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1257" alt="twitter" src="http://silkandspiceblog.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/twitter2.png" width="48" height="48" />   <img alt="instagram" src="http://silkandspiceblog.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/instagram2.png" width="48" height="48" />

I also just realized they aren't appearing side by side.
    Thank you!

  5. I'm also not working with 100 x 100 for these images (I did before, but I though maybe it was too large), I'm working with 48 x 48, which is the original size of the downloaded images, and also the size in the code as you can see.

    thanks!

  6. It seems you've removed the text widget in the interim, which I totally understand, but again I can't see what's happening on your site.

In any event, please look at this Support doc for further info about adding social media icons to your site. http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar-or-footer/

If you are still having trouble with this, please post back here and if you prefer not to display the text widget on your site, please post here a screenshot of what you see.

  7. Hello - and thanks so much for following up. I am getting the help of a programmer as I need a few different things done on my blog.
So thanks again - but I will leave it up to him now. :)
