The banner color behind my tagline won't change

    I'm trying to customize my theme, but there is a ribbon banner behind my tagline that I can't get to change.

  2. Hi, which theme are you using? Also, what is your blog you are needing help with?

  3. The ribbon is three bg images. To get rid of it, paste this in the CSS editor:

    #description-left, #description-middle, #description-right {
    background: none;
    }
  4. @justpi:

    Would it also work if she used this CSS?

    #description-left, #description-middle, #description-right { display:none;}

    Also, then the description itself would melt into to background color of the main container. So maybe there's a better way than hiding the ribbon altogether?

  5. No it wouldn't work if she used display:none, because this would make the tagline itself disappear.
    The tagline is designed to look ok against the ribbon, so after removing the ribbon you naturally need to modify the styling of the tagline: you can change its color or add a background or whatever. That's up to genuinesubgirl to do, if she knows how, or ask about, if she doesn't know how.

  6. @justpi and @smetheny :

    Thanks for responding!

    @justpi, What I want to do is change the color of the ribbon? Is that possible or is getting rid of the ribbon my only choice? (no I don't know how ;) )

  8. You're welcome.
    Changing the color of the ribbon is possible but complicated: you have to download the original images, change their color in an image editing application, upload the new versions to your blog via Media > Add New, copy their file URLs, use these URLS in the CSS editor (we can show you how if and when you do the rest).
