The connection was reset - cannot now access my blog

  1. I have been receiving this message for 4 days now. Initially it occurred while editing. Sometimes it was sporadic. Now it is constant.
I use Firefox but had a similar message on Safari.
I have cleared cookies and caches, removed Adblock and changed that setting in Users (http??? whatever - saw the suggestion on the forum)
But now I can't even see my blog. I am well and truly furious and upset.
    PLEASE HELP!

The blog I need help with is anaturallifeforjetandwalle.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry this is happening to you. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention.
    (1) How are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    (2) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

    (3) Are you using the https:// secure log-in? If not then please enable it

This has also been happening to me. I thought it was just my internet connection at first but it has been doing it on other computers as well - really annoying.

Can someone please let us both know how to fix this problem. I re-platformed my blog to wordpress as I thought it was a better platform to use but now I am starting to think differently.

  4. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0

I am connected via broadband wireless. My ISP is Tiscali.

    I am using a Macbook - not a tablet.

I think I did the secure login thing but will double check.

    It's been horrid!!!!!

  5. Yes, I am connected using that secure login.

Please help - I can't even SEE my blog now!!

  6. How do I get all my posts and so on and take them somewhere else, if I can't even access the blog?

Seriously, I've had enough! Well, ok, if the staff sort it out, fully, I'll be one happy camper, but right now I want to decamp. Pronto.

  8. I can see onecoolsite, you'll be pleased to know....

  9. And I can see Fashion Futures. You both have great blogs. I really like them. I'd like to see mine though.

If you cannot access the blog then you cannot use the exporter to get an XML file of your content. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/

I hear your frustration. There have been days of issues like this now but my best advice is to hang in and wait for Staff to assist you.

    I figured that.

Do you really think it'll get sorted out? I have been loving doing this blog - not that anyone reads it... and I really really would like it not to be a bloody nightmare!!

  12. I hear you. I've been here for over 6 years and there aren't usually this many issues or even issues of this kind.

  13. Thanks, @timethief.

Ironically, I can get on it now - but it has been sporadically on and off for the past four days so I do not feel it's resolved. Yet.

I'm delighted to believe it will be, though!

  14. I had a happy ten minutes of access. Now it's gone. So depressing.

  15. Maybe it's time to go riding for awhile and return later. (I'm a former equestrian and riding coach. Head injury - cannot take the risk any more - will always love horses.)

  16. The falling off is why I've changed my management system, @timethief - couldn't deal with the level of risk anymore. My horses are much less reactive now! x

  17. It's still broken. When are the staff likely to to something, do you think?

  18. Hi this is http://www.ffeirio.wordpress.com I have been having exactly the same problem. Using 2 different laptops off talk talk ISP. Tried safari, firefox & google browsers with the same result. I have left a topic on the forum at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/trouble-accesssing-website-through-wordpress?replies=3#post-914556 but yet to receive any response. Can someone Please let me know what is happening.

  19. There is an issue between on of our third-party CDNs and Talk Talk. We are working with our CDN to resolve the issue, and you might want to try contacting your ISP too.

    Sorry for the trouble!

  20. Oh ok... so what would I say when I call them up? How would I explain the issue? Please give me an idiot's guide!!

  21. I'd just approach from a very basic standpoint, "I can't access my blog," and see what they do about it.

  22. !! I'm so stupid. Cheers.

  23. You're not stupid, that was a very good question. :)
