The "Edit" link won't go away even logged off!

  1. Hello Dr. Mike or some other person as nice as he is,

    I'm here again, but this time I'm pretty sure it is not my fault.
    I reckon this turn it really is a bug, a boring one.
    The topic title says it all, the edit pencil, which in portuguese is "Editar", won't go away in every post. Of course nobody can get in to my dashboard, but it does not like nice, and there is a link, although it doesn't take anywere but my home page. It started a few hours ago, and I can't figure out wether is something I changed, but I think that isn't a choice to make, that thing could not be there as a result of a mistake of mine.
    Anyway, please check it out with you own eyes: http://surf4ever.wordpress.com/

    I'd appreciate some help.
    Thankfully,

    Gustavo

  2. I do see what you are indicating but it is hardcoded into the K2 Lite theme and cannot be removed. If you do not like the way it looks you can either (1) change themes or (2) purchase a css customization upgrade and change the css to mask it yourself.

  3. Thank you, Timethief, but it's got to be another way to solve it.
    The blog is nearly 6 months old and this is the first time it has happened. Not even once it happened before. So, I reckon it is going to go sometime.
    I'm not a Webdesigner, just a simple WP blogger, so purchasing a css customization would not the way, 'cause I cannot use it.
    Anyway, I appreciated your help, but I'll be still waiting for the light.

  4. I went to my test blog and I changed it to the K2 Lite theme. All the little pencil icons and the "edit" word appeared just like on your blog.
    {speculation} It's possible that the theme was updated and that's why they are now part of the theme whereas you didn't see them before.{/speculation}
    The only way you will know for sure is to send a feedback in to staff and ask.

  5. It's gone after the latest posting!

    Thank you, anyway, for taking your time trying to help me, mate.
    And sorry with I stole you some time... :)

    Cheers,

    P.S - I liked your blog, looks cool. I foud something nice there and I'm leaving a comment.

  6. I have seen this on IE. The edit-pen icon was still up even if I've already logged out. I'm using 2813.

  7. @surf4ever
    Well it's still on my test blog which is not css customized so that means our beloved geeks on staff "fixed" this for you by removing it from the backend. YAY! And thanks for the blog compliment. :)

    @knoizki
    I didn't even know there was an edit pen on 2813 but that's probably because I don't use it. :)
