The "Insert In Post" Button won't work

  1. For two days now, I"ve been trying to insert images into my blog. I follow all the directions, and I am able to enter "Alternate Text," "Caption," and set size and placement. However, when I hit the "Insert In Post" button, nothing happens. (The same is true when I try to insert a gallery).

Can anyone tell me what to do please? Thanks...

The blog I need help with is pcyjourneyhome.wordpress.com.

  2. I have exactly the same problem. No one has been able to help.

  3. (1) Which browsers and versions of them are you two bloggers using please?

    (2) Have both of you you tried these troubleshooting techniques?

  4. Ha! Same issue for me last two days, 14th & 15Tth. The Upload/Insert buttons are non-functional. NOTE: Temp solution was to right click a button open another browser window (IE8) and proceed as normal, close the second window are return to the edit page with the image now inserted.

Second issue on the Edit post page: The Post Tags text box does not function. Type in the field and the default words-"Add new tag" remain behind the typed tag words being added and the "add" button does not fnction. Just sent all this over to support. (fingers crossed) At least it is not only me experiencing related issues.

And yes, I cleared all the history, cache temp files etc... Still no go.

  5. I have had that trouble with IE6 in the past. Until it's fixed, you might want to switch to another browser.

When you add tags, are you attempting to add more than one at a time? I think that has been temporarily disabled because of abuse.

  6. Uh, and YOU are definitely using too many tags. To be safe, keep it to a dozen or less; more than that and you risk getting thrown off the Global Tag Pages, which sort of defeats the main purpose of using tags.

  7. raincoaster, before I load Firefox or another browser not knowing if that will solve the issue and not bring any others, allow me to clarify- The issue is not just the tag box as mentioned originally. Missing allot of functionality but only on the Edit page. No, I don't multi-paste.

And thanks for the quantity suggestion; did not know that could be abuse. Now I can't even edit those tags down or use the edit link in the "Publish" box. Click on it, nothing happens also just like the rest. The two errors below are only on the Edit page displayed by IE8 could be related as I never remember seeing errors before these issues showed up.

  10. IE6 is over 9 years old, and is quickly being left behind by the web, and it has had problems with WordPress for at least a couple years.

I would suggest either upgrading to IE7 or 8, or of you cannot do that, get the latest version of Firefox that your operating system will support.

  11. @thesacredpath - thank you for your guidance. I shall see what i
can do and see what the outcome is after the change...

  12. Well said thesacredpath! My resolution came by way of replacing IE8 with Firefox.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html All issues vanished and I was left with a robust, highly customizable browser to boot. Reminds me of the Netscape years back.

  13. I was working on IE6 and the web changed out from under me. As SOON as I started using Firefox, things became infinitely easier, and things that had been impossible became easy. It's not a big program and while it's a shame that you have to switch, you wouldn't take a bike on the freeway. That little street you used to go down has now become that freeway.
